How long is my certification good for?
All of our CPR Certifications or First Aid Certifications are valid for 2 years.

How do I pay for the class? 
We accept all forms of payment, Check, cash or major credit cards.  Payment is required to reserve your seat in a class.  See our reservation policy below for more information.

Who conducts the courses?
Stephen Hoffman is an experienced firefighter/EMT with over 21 years of training experience.  Stephen is the Lead instructor.  All of our instructors are have emergency services experience and have performed CPR on real people.

Will there be a test?
There is no longer a written test for the lay person unless it is required by your employer. Healthcare providers still take a 25 question written test. A practical skills check is part of all classes that issue certification.

What should I wear?
There is hands-on practical involved in the class, so wear something comfortable that you can move around in. If you have long hair it is best to wear it back.

Would Conejo Valley CPR come to my location for a class?
Absolutely, we specialize in doing on-site CPR classes and First Aid classes from Ventura to Van Nuys and beyond.

Does Conejo Valley CPR offer classes for individuals?
Yes, we offer regularly scheduled classes at our convenient Westlake Village location. Check out our schedule

Which organization would I be certified through?
All of our classes are taught to American Heart Association standards and you receive an AHA certification card.

Do you offer Continuing Education Units.
Currently we do issue CEU's to dental licensees.  The Dental Board of California automatically accepts 3 CEU's for the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Course.  You must simply retain you BLS card with the AHA logo on it in the event you are audited.  We do not currently offer CEU's for other disciplines.

Am I required to purchase a Student Manual?
The AHA requires all students to have a student manual for each certification class. If you have the current version of AHA student manual for the class you would like to take then you are not required to purchase a book, but you are required to bring the book with you to class. If you don't have a current copy of the student manual or do not bring it to class then you will be required to purchase the book.  Heartsaver CPR, First Aid and CPR and First Aid Manuals are $5 including tax, Basic Life Support Providers Manuals are $19 including tax.

What do I do if I loose my certification card?
No problem. Since all current cards are e-cards your are able to access your card at: heart.org/cpr/mycards 

Enter your name and email address, answer your security question and you have access to your card.

Is CPR and First Aid difficult to learn?
Classes consist of knowledge and skills, both of which can learned by almost any able bodied person.  

What if I have never taken CPR or First Aid before?
No prior knowledge is need. All of our classes are tailored to be fun and easy to understand.

Is there an minimum age requirement to learn CPR?
The American Heart Association does not have a minimum age requirement to learn CPR.  The ability to perform CPR is based more on body strength than age.  Studies have shown that children as  young as 9 years old can learn and retain CPR skills.

Do you offer skills sessions for online training?
Yes, we do offer the skills portions parts 2 & 3 for AHA classes that do you have completed online.  Just call us at 818-665-6653 to schedule your skills session.


Reservation Policy

Your seat in a class in not guaranteed until your payment is received . If you do not send the class fee, a seat in class may not be available for you.  Credit cards, cash or checks are acceptable forms of payment.  When paying by credit card an invoice, that can be paid online, will be emailed to the same email you used when registering for the class.  Payment by check or cash can be dropped off or mailed to:

Cancellation Policy

Registration cancellations 7 or more days from the start of a course will receive a 100% refund minus a $5 processing fee.

Registration cancellations between 7 days and 24 hours from the start of a course will receive 100% refund minus a $20 administrative fee.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations 24 hours or less prior to the start time of a course but students can pay the rescheduling fee to attend another class.

A no-show to a class will not be issued any refund and to register for another class the full course fee will be charged.

No refunds are given for online courses or course materials already received.

Conejo Valley CPR reserves the right to cancel a class due to lack of enrollment or for unforeseen circumstances.  Every effort will be made to notify students of a course cancellation 24 hours in advance of the class.


Rescheduling Policy
We are happy to reschedule students to a more convenient date upon your request.  However the following fees apply to rescheduling a class.


24 hours or more prior to the class - no fee
 Under 24 hours prior to the class - $22 fee*

Refund Policy

Refunds will be processed within 7 days of date of the course.


Exceptions

We will review exceptions and extenuating circumstances on request. 

A request will be addressed and processed within 7 business days.

Returned Checks / Non-payment
If your check is returned to us for insufficient funds, you will incur an additional fee of $25.00 before your certificate will be issued. If your check is returned and we issued your certificate in good faith, you will need to send an additional fee along with the original amount immediately. If we are not compensated within 2 weeks then we reserve the right to notify the American Heart Association or other training organizations that the certificate was obtained fraudulently. We also reserve the right to notify your employer or school.

*The rescheduling fee covers the cost of the certification card that would have been issued for that specific date.
